It’s finally official: The New York Jets will be featured on “Hard Knocks”
Despite prior reports and speculation in previous months, the cat is finally out of the bag (or, perhaps, the jet is out of the hangar). It was confirmed by NFL insider Adam Schefter Wednesday morning that the New York Jets have officially been selected to star in HBO’s training camp series Hard Knocks.
NFL and NFL Films have selected the New York Jets to serve as this year’s team on Hard Knocks, per sources.

This is Gang Green’s second appearance on the show, with the former coming back in 2010. While much has changed from the Rex Ryan era in New York, this rollercoaster offseason has propelled the team to be under the national microscope of the league.
While exciting for some fans, many have been adamantly opposed to being on the show. The Jets already film and produce their own training camp show every year called One Jets Drive. Fans believe it will be just another distraction for players ahead of a pivotal season for the franchise.
However, the organization can’t remove themselves from the running, and NFL Films will be forcing them to welcome in the cameras later this summer. This comes after Jets players voiced their displeasure about potentially being selected.
Even head coach Robert Saleh denounced the potential for his team to be picked during a June press conference.

There’s nothing that can be done at this point. The new-look Jets continue to be a national media darling across the league, and the players will be under the watch of even more eyes as they ramp up for the 2023-24 season.
One thing is for certain — the locker room and maturity of such a young team will be tested even before the first game. It will be up to the veterans to help guide the team through both the scrutiny and praise as the media bears down on their attempt to take flight.
