In a radio spot on ESPN’s “Bart and Hahn”, the Jets’ wide receiver spoke about the Jets’ woes against New England.
Garrett Wilson is ready to change the New York Jets’ narrative against the New England Patriots.
During an appearance on ESPN Radio’s “Bart and Hahn”, the Jets’ star wideout spoke about the organization’s struggles against the hated division rival, calling the team’s 14-game losing streak against New England “unacceptable”.
Garrett Wilson is well aware of the #Jets 14-game losing streak to the #Patriots. From @BartAndHahn:
"It's time that things change around here. I don't like talking about it too much, but this is one of the first steps. Fourteen straight is unacceptable. That's unacceptable. I'm…

“It’s time that things change around here. I don’t like talking about it too much, but this is one of the first steps. Fourteen straight is unacceptable. That’s unacceptable,” said Wilson.
“I walked into a team that, we haven’t beaten the Patriots. I feel like that’s why they brought me here, brought me and Sauce here and the guys here — to make things like that change. It’s time we do what we get paid for.”
Wilson is correct in his sentiment, as the Jets have been dominated by New England for more than a decade. Since 2011, the Jets have only beaten the Patriots twice. Their last win against New England came in Week 16 of the 2015 season. Bill Belichick, who is open about his disdain for the Jets, has pulled no punches when it comes to facing them.
This was apparent in Robert Saleh’s first year as head coach, as the Jets saw the Patriots run up the score with 54 points in their second matchup in 2021.
The Jets are in a much better position than Saleh’s first season, having an abundance of talent on a roster that is arguably better than New England’s. But talent does not mean anything without execution, and the Jets will need to rely on their superstar wideout to have the best chance to win Sunday.
Wilson and the rest of the young Jets want to change the team’s narrative against the New England Patriots. If they are able to perform and execute to the level that they showed in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, Wilson and company will have a very good chance to make the change they want to see a reality.
