Analyzing All-22 film of the New York Jets’ dominant defense and other key takeaways (both good and bad) from the Snoopy Bowl victory
Coming off an exhilarating win over the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Jets entered their Week 7 bye week on a high note. The challenge after that? Taking care of business as three-point favorites against the 2-5 New York Giants.
After 59 minutes and 36 seconds, it didn’t seem like the Jets would rise to that challenge. An ugly punt-fest ensued at MetLife Stadium, and the Giants were poised to come out on top.
But thanks to a dominant defensive performance that flat-out scared the Giants offense into throwing the game away, the Jets were given a chance to steal the victory at the last moment.

The Jets offense was abysmal, featuring countless penalties, drops and overall poor play. These issues were made worse by multiple offensive line injuries as starting center Connor McGovern and starting guard (only because of multiple other injuries) Wes Schweitzer were knocked out for the game.
Zach Wilson and the offense came up big when given a chance at the end, but numerous issues plagued them throughout the game, causing them to punt 11 times and finish 2-of-15 on third down.
Despite the offense’s struggles, the defense continued fighting throughout the game, making the Giants look more like an offense from the 1970s NFL than anything from 2023. Still, the defense had some bad penalties that need to be erased.
