Revis was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with the 2023 class, having his induction ceremony this past summer. It was the same weekend as the Hall of Fame Game, where the Jets took on the Cleveland Browns.
In his eight seasons with the Jets, Revis had 25 interceptions, three touchdowns, and 112 passes defended. He also had 388 total tackles, a forced fumble, a sack, and four tackles for loss. Revis also was a Pro Bowler five times and a first-team All-Pro three times.
The Hall-of-Fame cornerback also had some key plays in his matchups against the Chargers, who are the Jets’ Monday night opponent.
Most notably, Revis had an interception on former Chargers’ quarterback Philip Rivers in the Jets’ victory in the 2009 AFC Divisional round.

Ironically, Revis is being honored during a season where the Jets have the closest defense to the Revis-led 2009 and 2010 Jets teams. The 2023 team has Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed, similar to the Revis and Antonio Cromartie combination the Jets used to have. They also have a comparable, if not a more talented, defensive line when stacked against the vaunted Rex Ryan-coached ones.
Revis’s ceremony will bring back memories for many Jets fans, whether it is the back-to-back AFC Championship appearances or the star cornerback locking down every receiver lined up against him. If the Jets can continue their recent play Monday night and find a way to win, they will continue to move closer toward achieving the success that was synonymous with the majority of Revis’s lauded Jets’ career.
