Comedian Chris Rock wants USC quarterback Caleb Williams to play for the New York Jets

The New York Jets have struggled to find success at the quarterback position for decades. So when Chris Rock caught up with USC quarterback Caleb Williams, the comedian (and Jets fan) made it clear where Williams should play in the NFL.

“You want the Jets,” started Rock. “You don’t want Chicago, you want to go to the Jets. … There’s no place you would rather play than the Jets. Where do you want to live? You want to live in New York.”

The USC quarterback can be seen laughing in the video, but for Jets fans, having a quarterback like Caleb Williams could be a dream come true.

Right now, Williams is the consensus QB1 for the 2024 NFL Draft. The 21-year old already has a Heisman trophy under his belt. With comparisons to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Williams is an electrifying talent that should be a generational player in the NFL – something that Jets fans haven’t had the luxury of seeing in decades.

This season, many thought that would change with the acquisition of future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Sadly, the 39-year old would rupture his Achilles on the fourth snap of the game. Since then, third-year quarterback Zach Wilson has taken over, playing at a historically ineffective level.

As for Chris Rock, the comedian has never outright expressed his fandom for the Jets, but has dropped hints that he’s a despairing fan who’s struggled to enjoy the team throughout their struggles.

“When you’re a Jet fan, you need an alternate every year,” Rock said during a 2014 appearance on the Rich Eisen show. “You’re, like, OK, we’re going to actually have a football season for about four games. Then it’s kind of over, then it’s nice to find another team to follow.”
