Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are enjoying their best start to the regular season since 1962. Sitting at 8-2, they have a comfortable lead in their division and are only one game out of first place in the NFC. Meanwhile, the Packers are 4-6 and are playing for their season on Thanksgiving.
Jared Goff is one of the most profitable quarterbacks to bet on in the NFL. This is particularly true in the first half, Goff is 19-7-1 against the spread before halftime which ranks first in the NFL out of all starting quarterbacks. When looking at the Packers, they are 4-6 ATS in the first half this season and are 1-6-1 straight up at halftime in their last eight games.
Dan Campbell has also been a covering machine since he took over as head coach of the Detroit Lions. He is 34-22 against the spread as head coach, which ranks best in the NFL for coaches with 50 or more games.
In front of a national audience, I think the Lions are going to be motivated to put on a show and cement themselves as a true Super Bowl contender.
The play: Lions -4 First Half Spread
Buffalo Bills @ Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles come into this game after a huge prime-time win over the Kansas City Chiefs, improving their record to 9-1. Now, the Eagles are heading back home for another tough test when they host the Buffalo Bills. The Bills, who are having a down year by their standards, are looking to keep their place in the thick AFC playoff race.
The Philadelphia Eagles are due for some regression. Their record says 9-1 but they are only +61 in point differential this season, which ranks sixth in the league. This shows they are winning games but most of them are close. As a veteran team, it is possible they just know how to win games and take care of business when it becomes crunch time. However, I think the Bills can exploit that if they get off to a fast start and rely on their defense.
I think this is a great spot for the Bills. After firing offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, the Bills’ offense looked more in rhythm as they had a nice day against a strong Jets defense. Josh Allen completed 63% of his passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns in what was one of his best starts of the season.
After an emotional win and a short week for the Eagles, I like the Bills to keep it close in Philadelphia on Sunday.
The play: Buffalo Bills +3
