Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers
The Seahawks and 49ers just played each other a few weeks ago on Thanksgiving night. The 49ers went into Seattle and beat up on the Seahawks 31-13. This game was never close as it was 24-3 at halftime.
The 49ers are coming off an emotional win over the Eagles, where they demolished Philadelphia 42-19. As I wrote in last week’s article, the 49ers wanted that game badly and put everything they had into winning that game. I could see that taking a lot out of the 49ers and this could be a nice flat spot for the Niners.
The Seahawks are also well-rested. They are coming off a Thursday night with normal rest because they played on Thanksgiving night. This gives Seattle almost a mini bye week to recover and gives them extra time to find a way to get off this three-game losing skid.
Lastly, I like Seattle’s desperation in this spot. They are playing for their season right now sitting at 6-6 and slowly fading out of wild card contention. It does not get much easier next week as Seattle has the Philadelphia Eagles on the schedule. They need this one and I expect the Seahawks to come out firing.
The play: Seattle Seahawks +13.5
Buffalo Bills @ Kansas City Chiefs
The Buffalo Bills are currently 6-6 and find themselves outside looking in on the NFL’s playoff picture. After beginning the season with Super Bowl aspirations, the Bills look like a team that could miss the playoffs.
Because the Bills were on a bye last week, the last time we saw them play was probably their best offensive game of the season. They lost to the 10-2 Philadelphia Eagles on the road in overtime, but they scored 34 points and had a season-high 505 yards of offense while only turning the ball over once.
This was probably Josh Allen’s best game of the season as he had over 400 total yards and four touchdowns. When Joe Brady took over as offensive coordinator in Buffalo, Allen and Brady instantly seemed to connect and I expect that to continue this week in Kansas City.
At this time of the year, I love backing teams with their backs up against the wall. Similar to Seattle, the Bills are playing for their playoff lives. With the Cowboys on deck and the Dolphins still on the schedule, the Bills have to start winning games if they want to make it to the postseason.
The play: Buffalo Bills +1
