Sauce Gardner compared Jets and Knicks fans while attending the playoff game at MSG
While attending Game 2 of the New York Knicks’ first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers, Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner hilariously noticed a link between Jets fans and Knicks fans.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), the two-time All-Pro cornerback compared the passionate basketball fans to the Jets faithful.
Idk who's worse (in a good way), Knicks fans or Jets fans or if these are Jets fans who are also Knicks fans at this game. But they trolling 😂😂😂

Gardner, in a subsequent post, commented on the fans once again.
Did I just hear a "F*** Embiid" chant? These are definitely Jets fans at the Knicks game😂😂😂 https://t.co/OdE5UrCUMQ

“Did I just hear a “F*** Embiid” chant? These are definitely Jets fans at the Knicks game,” said Gardner.
Based on his posts, the Jets’ superstar defender is learning firsthand about the dynamics of New York sports and the fans of their teams.
In baseball, fans in the region are split between the Mets and Yankees. Fans always argue about which team has the better present and future, which has created the “Subway Series” rivalry and consistent banter between both fanbases.
The same applies to football fans in the NYC area. While many people are Jets fans, there are also plenty of Giants fans. Jets and Giants fans, while not on the level of the Mets and Yankees rivalry since they rarely play against one another, often engage in banter.
Hockey is even more complicated; fans are divided into cheering for the Rangers, Devils, and Islanders. These teams all constantly compete with each other and cause the fanbases to argue over who is the best.
But when it comes to basketball? NYC is mainly united around the Knicks. Sorry, Brooklyn Nets fans.
No matter what allegiances exist in other sports, the Knicks are the team all fanbases rally around. New York goes as the Knicks go, and the city is at its best when they are thriving.
Gardner learned through his Game 2 experience that the passion of the Knicks fans is the result of the passion of multiple fanbases coming together. If the Jets play to their capabilities in 2024, though, there is a great chance their crowds could approach the atmosphere of the Knicks.
