Former New York Jets center and Rangers fan Nick Mangold got the playoff crowd hyped at MSG
Since retiring from the NFL, former New York Jets center Nick Mangold has been a staple attending New York sporting events throughout the metropolitan area. This is especially true for Mangold’s beloved Rangers, who are in the midst of a playoff series against the Washington Capitals. Last night, MSG hosted Game 2 of the playoff series, and Mangold was spotted at his usual perch in the stadium.
While the Rangers pulled out a close 4-3 victory against Washington, it was Mangold who arguably stole the show for his performance during the third period. The former Jets center was spotted during the Rangers’ “Who’s in the House” segment featured on the jumbotron, highlighting some of NYC’s biggest celebrities in attendance. Mangold was wearing a Rangers jersey performing what can only be described as a celebratory chug for the ages as his favorite team looked to take a 2-0 advantage over their opponents.

Mangold has been a fan of the Rangers for years, and is a constant presence during some of the team’s biggest games. In fact, this isn’t even the first time Mangold put on one of his famous chugging performances during a game.

There’s little doubt that the Jets’ all-time great center is passionate about his Rangers – as well as his love of an icy brew. And while it appears that Mangold has toned down his approach when watching his Rangers play, there’s no question that he still holds a massive presence in New York.
