The star quarterback of the New York Jets is enlisting the help of the team’s fanbase for an important decision.
Posting a poll on his Instagram story, Aaron Rodgers asked fans whether or not he should wear a mustache in the 2024 season. As of the writing of this article, the option for the mustache has a significant lead on the option for no mustache.

When it comes to facial hair decisions for athletes, it comes down to a combination of look, feel, and superstition. Weighting a combination of these factors is how these types of decisions are ultimately made.
As someone who had facial hair when playing sports, my decisions usually fluctuated based on performance. If I were having a great week at the plate, I would keep whatever facial hair I had until I cooled off. On the other hand, I would immediately get rid of my beard if I hit a rough patch. It was a superstitious approach to handling a significant part of my look.
What was the random tangent about my insignificant baseball career needed for, though? It means that, regardless of what fans pick for Rodgers, there will likely be a change to his facial hair if the team struggles.
Fans evidently want Rodgers to rock the mustache for the 2024 season, and knowing how athletes operate, the best way for that decision to stick is for the Jets to win plenty of games in 2024.
