One of the most prominent cornerbacks of the 2000s received the Bill Walsh Internship with the New York Jets
The New York Jets’ training camp will involve a former star cornerback.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Antonio Cromartie announced that he would be participating in New York’s training camp as a coach.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity I have to do the Bill Walsh internship with @nyjets for fall camp. Ready [to] learn as much as I can during this time. Thank you Coach Saleh and your staff for this opportunity!!! Back to 1 [Jets] Dr.,” said Cromartie.

On its website, the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship is described as “proud to celebrate 30+ years of helping outstanding coaches gain exposure to NFL training camps and offseason workout programs.” Additionally, the website explains the program’s objective.
“The program’s objective is to use NFL clubs’ training camps, offseason workout programs, and minicamps to give talented coaches opportunities to observe, participate, gain experience, and ultimately gain a full-time NFL coaching position.”
This will not be the first time Cromartie has been a part of the Jets coaching staff. In 2018, the former Charger and Jet served as a coaching intern under Todd Bowles, mainly working with the linebackers.
It is another excellent opportunity for Cromartie to gain valuable coaching experience. He has served as a graduate assistant for Texas A&M and as a defensive analyst for St. Augustine University.
Where Cromartie is working has yet to be determined, but the former star defender should be able to learn from the current Jets’ coaching staff and impart some wisdom to the team’s coaches and players.
