FLORHAM PARK, NJ—It’s not that Aaron Rodgers put up a poor Wednesday session; it’s merely about the context with which his first day unfolded at New York Jets training camp.
The opening day felt more like a continuation of OTAs. Rodgers and company were cool, calm and collected. The energy wasn’t palpable, yet it did exist. Professionalism with a heavy dose of intent seemed to get the camp party commenced.
In the end, the strength of this Jets depth chart—the pass coverage—got the better end of the play.
The opposite happened a day later. Rodgers and the offense struck back, and it happened in front of a rowdy group of Jets fans.
Sheesh, even a fumbled punt in positionals grabbed the crowd’s attention.
How to know the #Jets fans’ hype is at level red: Brandon Codrington fields a punt in positionals, fumbles with a gunner slapping it out, and the crowd collectively/solidly bemoans.
The excitement for teams should be something.
