Aaron Rodgers has officially arrived in Florham Park, NJ. The New York Jets new quarterback is a future Pro Football Hall of Fame player that still has diehard fans pinching themselves in search of actual reality.
Remember, these are the Jets, the organization that moves through each NFL season without a legitimate answer at the most important position in sports. Each time a youngster is chosen, hype and belief are built up to a degree that’s understandable, yet something always crumbles in the end.
Zach Wilson was that last “next” guy. And although he won’t enter the 2023 NFL season as the starting quarterback, he is still on the roster. Perhaps Rodgers is exactly what the BYU product needs.
Nonetheless, this extremely talented Jets roster suddenly finds itself in a rare and unique position: a loaded roster that needed a quarterback. Think about it: How often does a talented roster have such a monstrous hole at the most important position? Rarely. And make no mistake about it: Aaron Rodgers is no dummy; he fully understands just how rare and opportunistic this situation actually is.
So, with a legitimate quarterback now in tow, Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas enter their third year together with one mission: the Super Bowl.
Aaron Rodgers ruptures Achilles, out for the season
Incredibly, as quickly as it started is as rapidly as it concluded. Just four snaps into his New York Jets career, Aaron Rodgers snapped his Achilles.
Of course, this means he’ll be on the season-ending IR shelf for all of 2023, with Zach Wilson taking charge of the Jets offense.
