Ahead of their last preseason game, the New York Jets have announced some moves in their front office.
In a restructuring of the team’s personnel department, New York named Jon Carr and Greg Nejmeh co-directors of player personnel. They also elevated Dan Zbojovsky to the club’s senior director of football operations and named Jay Mandolesi the team’s director of college scouting. Additionally, New York announced Nick Sabella as the senior director of football administration, among other moves.

In the press release, the Jets said that “Carr, in his seventh season with the club and 18th in the NFL, and Nejmeh, in his 16th season with the Jets, now oversee the club’s talent evaluation as co-directors of player personnel. The pair serve as valued advisors to Douglas in all personnel matters, including free agency and the draft, while directing the team’s pro and college scouting departments.”
Additionally, they said that Zbojovsky now “oversees the athletic training staff, medical staff, player development, personnel operations, and video department while maintaining his role in the scouting process.”
After multiple office members left in the winter, namely Chad Alexander and Rex Hogan, there were some voids the Jets needed to fill. While they have not specifically filled Hogan’s void, New York has finally announced the new structure of their front office.
Douglas and his new lieutenants made solid moves in the offseason, such as signing Tyron Smith and drafting Olu Fashanu. They put the team in a good position for 2024.
Now, it comes down to execution on the field. If the Jets win games at a high rate this year, the first offseason from Douglas and his newly structured front office will be considered a success.
