The New York Jets will take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in the final preseason game for both New York teams. As the players entered the premises to get ready for the game, wide receiver Xavier Gipson gave one lucky Jets fan an excellent photo opportunity ahead of the “Snoopy Bowl.”
Upon entering the facility, Gipson stopped to interact with fans by signing autographs and taking pictures. One young fan was fortunate enough to be given the wide receiver’s chain for an incredibly unique photo opportunity that the fan will remember for years to come.

Gipson is slotted as one of the team’s starting wide receivers, as well as their primary returner. It’s unlikely that he sees the field in the Jets’ final preseason game, which emphasizes the value of his effort to connect with Jets fans prior to the game. It upholds the perspective of the high-end character we’ve seen from Gipson in his limited time with New York thus far.
The undrafted free agent burst onto the scene in his first game for the Jets last season. While that game proved to be the early demise for the Jets, Gipson’s game-winning punt return stunned everyone watching the game and cemented him in the annals of the team’s history.

Entering his second season in the NFL, Gipson will look to expand on his successful rookie year. While adjustments must be made for the second-year Jet to have success in the return game, perhaps the bigger adjustment will be catching passes from four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers instead of the plethora of quarterbacks from a season ago.
Regardless, Gipson will have a chance to prove that he’s capable of making game-altering plays not just as a returner, but as a wide receiver, too. If the Stephen F. Austin product can build upon last year’s success, the sky is the limit on his career going forward.
