If one NFL reporter is to be trusted, Haason Reddick‘s holdout may be ending swiftly.
On Thursday, former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi, currently of The Daily Coach, said he expects the elite edge rusher to report to the New York Jets late Friday night or at some point on Saturday. He also discussed how Reddick’s camp may view the holdout.

“I’m told reliably by people inside the Reddick camp that he is due to come in sometime, maybe today or tomorrow. I say that as a caveat because I think this whole holdout has been very frustrating to all of the people involved in the Reddick camp. I think they realize how stupid of a holdout it is. They’ve had a hard time convincing [Reddick] that he needs to do what he needs to do in terms of just going to camp.”

Lombardi added that if Reddick reports, he doubts that he will play on Monday night against the 49ers. Jets head coach Robert Saleh did not rule out Reddick playing on Monday when asked about it on Thursday.
Ultimately, the Reddick-Jets situation is in “believe it when you see it” territory.
There have been no other reports about Reddick’s potential return, nor have there been any rumblings about the two sides restarting negotiations. In this situation, nobody will truly know anything until it reaches a conclusion.
Lombardi could be right, and Reddick could report to the team quickly. Or, his reporting could be off-base, and Reddick is not any closer to suiting up for the Jets.
Regardless, the Jets start their season in only a few days. All of the focus needs to be on preparing for San Francisco and ensuring that the team starts 1-0.
It remains to be seen if Reddick will be a part of the Jets’ 2024 maiden voyage, but with nothing set in stone about a return, these types of rumors are only good for speculation and discussion.
