In one of his latest interviews, Aaron Rodgers shouted out a fellow player coming off an Achilles injury.
On the “Pat McAfee Show,” the star New York Jets quarterback spoke about how much he enjoyed rehabbing with Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins.

“J.K. was really, really important for me. He made every day of rehab just a little bit brighter. If you’ve ever been around J.K., he is one of the nicest guys. He is always in a good mood, he is happy, he is funny,” said Rodgers.
“After a couple of hours into day one, he realized there would be some back and forth here. You are going to give me some s-t, I am going to give you some s-t. I’m going to tell you how young you are and how I’m beating you in rehab. That was just our banter every single day when we came in.”
Rodgers added that Dobbins’s presence was something he “needed” and that seeing him play well and be happy “was so cool”.

It is cool that two players who went through so much in their rehabs got to become close with each other. Rodgers was potentially never going to play again after his injury, while many wrote Dobbins off after another season-ending injury. They had to overcome their own odds and make it back to the highest level of competition.
Now, both players are back and contributing to their teams. Dobbins, who ran for 135 yards in the Chargers’ season opener, looks rejuvenated as a runner, while Rodgers looks like the same quarterback that has been a force in the NFL for over a decade.
If they continue to play the way they have, the duo could be the front runners for the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award while leading their respective teams to successful seasons.
