Edge rusher Will McDonald spoke about the defense doing Jermaine Johnson’s celebration after big plays on Thursday night. Johnson tore his Achilles in the Week 2 win against the Titans.
“That was already planned. We owe it to Jermaine. It was just giving our thanks to Jermaine. We just wanted him to know that we still got him with us.”
McDonald also spoke about his productive start to the season, saying that “I’m not impressed yet this season” and that stats “don’t really matter unless we get to the championship and win that ring.”
When asked about Aaron Rodgers’s mobility, running back Breece Hall said he thought the quarterback was crazy at first.
“Yeah, I’m not going to lie, the first time he ran, I kind of started laughing in the back of my head, like he’s crazy. 40-years old, Achilles is good; it was cool to see him run. You can still tell he’s scared to get hit because he was sliding and everything. It was good, it was cool.”
Hall also spoke about the offense cleaning up penalties going forward.
“When you go back and watch the film, it’s like, OK, we can’t do that if we’re playing a better opponent just because that stuff matters.”
When asked about his plans for his break until Monday, Hall kept it simple.
“I mean, for these next three days, my main focus is laying in the bed and playing the game… [EA Sports] College Football [25] got me in a chokehold right now.”

Wide receiver Garrett Wilson spoke about what it felt like getting in the end zone on Thursday night.
“It felt good. Me and the end zone have a tough relationship right now. So it definitely felt good to get on good terms with the end zone.”
The star receiver also spoke about his struggles to connect with Aaron Rodgers early in the year.
“I’m excited to get back to work and figure it out. I got to get in the lab and, you know, have those, have some conversations, and figure out where I can be better at.
Fellow wide receiver Allen Lazard spoke about his own rapport with quarterback Aaron Rodgers after the game.
“I’ve played with my quarterback my whole career besides last year. The comradery, the connection, and the understanding of just timing and situation are already built there and have already been established. The more I can help the guys get to that level of comfort, the more it will evolve. It will only help for the games, it doesn’t matter what we do in practice,” said Lazard.
“There’s nothing that’s going to emulate what it’s like right here on Thursday night or Sunday night or whatever it is to get that experience. We still have a lot of room to grow, like I said earlier, and it’s going to be a long season, but we have a lot of expectations.”
The Jets now have a 10-day break before their next game, which is against the Denver Broncos at home in Week 4. They will look to build upon a great Week 3 performance and solidify their standing as a contender in the AFC.
