Heading into Week 4, the New York Jets are looking to build upon a very successful start to the 2024 season.
After defeating the New England Patriots in Week 3, the Jets are 2-1 and have 10 days of preparation for their next opponent. This opponent happens to be the Denver Broncos, the Sean Payton-led squad that shares some recent history with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.
Denver defeated the talented and upstart Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend in decisive fashion to notch their first win of the season. They have a skilled defense led by Patrick Surtain and a developing offense led by rookie Bo Nix.
However, the Jets need to take care of business this week. Between the amount of time they have been afforded for preparation and having more talent than Denver, New York should and must win this game decisively.
Can they accomplish this feat? Or will they fall flat on Sunday? Follow along to learn everything you need to know about the Jets’ upcoming matchup this weekend.

In the all-time series, the Broncos have a slight edge over the Jets by a record of 22-18-1. However, the Jets have the better of the Broncos in the past five matchups, going 3-2.
New York has defeated Denver twice in the past two years under Robert Saleh. They narrowly won by a score of 16-9 in 2022 and won by double digits in 2023 by a score of 31-21.

Jets vs. Broncos Injury Report
New York Jets
- OL Morgan Moses, Knee – Out
- LB C.J. Mosley, Toe – Doubtful
With Jermaine Johnson officially on injured reserve, the Jets’ injury report now only includes two players.
Offensive tackle Morgan Moses is out for Sunday’s game with the knee injury he suffered against the Patriots. The veteran is expected to miss a few games but will not go onto injured reserve. Rookie Olu Fashanu is in line to slide over to right tackle to replace Moses on Sunday.
Linebacker C.J. Mosley is expected to miss Sunday’s game as well. The defensive captain has been dealing with a toe injury for the majority of the season and has said he will not play before he feels 100 percent. Jamien Sherwood will likely replace Mosley once again on Sunday.
Denver Broncos
- S JL Skinner, Ankle–Out
Denver lost starting linebacker Alex Singleton to a torn ACL earlier in the week. As the team’s leading tackler, the overall defensive unit for the Broncos will suffer a hit.
Outside of Singleton, the Broncos will be without a depth piece in safety JL Skinner. The rest of Denver will be ready to roll on Sunday against the Jets.
Jets vs. Broncos Prediction
- New York defeats Denver 30-10
In years past, the Jets would be in trouble coming off an extended break against a team like Denver. Knowing what teams are in their future, previous New York teams under Saleh would come out flat and lose a game they had no business dropping.
However, this is the year that changes.
Aaron Rodgers makes things different. Tyron Smith makes things different. A more mature and focused New York Jets roster makes things different.
Considering the past New York shares with Denver, I predict that the Jets will look to step on Denver’s throats on Sunday. Rodgers will have his best game of the season, the Killer Bs will find plenty of success, and the defense will shut down Bo Nix.
There is no reason the Jets should lose to the Broncos. New York likely understands that fact and will ensure that a poor result does not occur. I am taking the Jets over the Broncos by a score of 30-10.
