On Sunday, the New York Jets suffered a disappointing 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos as 7.5-point home favorites.
The Jets committed 15 penalties, 13 of which were accepted, for a total of 90 yards, including four offensive pre-snap penalties.
While addressing the media following the team’s rough loss, Jets head coach Robert Saleh suggested that quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ unique cadence might have thrown the rest of the offense out of sync at the line of scrimmage.

“We’ve got to figure it out, whether or not we’re good enough or ready to handle all the cadence,” Saleh said after the offense failed to score a touchdown for the first time this year. “Cadence had not been an issue all [training] camp. Felt like our operation had been operating pretty good. Obviously, today, it took a major step back.”
Rodgers was not thrilled with Saleh’s comments. “That’s one way to do it,” Rodgers said following Sunday’s loss when informed about coach Saleh’s comments. “The other way is to hold them accountable.”
However, while speaking with reporters on Monday, Saleh clarified his postgame comments from Sunday’s loss, emphasizing the difference between cadence and offensive operation.
“We’re always going to push the envelope with cadence. Always,” Saleh said .“But with regards to operation, getting in and out of the huddle, getting to the line of scrimmage, the communication that’s being had, those are all things that we can continue to look at and clean up. But from a cadence standpoint, that’s part of what makes us who we are, and we’re going to continue to always push the envelope on that.”
The Jets aim to rebound from this rough performance with a victory this Sunday against former Jets first-round pick Sam Darnold and the undefeated Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
