Poor offensive line play was a major factor in the New York Jets’ struggles during their painful 10-9 home loss to the Denver Broncos. The Jets committed five pre-snap penalties, allowed five sacks, and failed to score on multiple goal-line rushing attempts.
Jets center Joe Tippmann addressed the media on Monday to discuss the team’s offensive struggles.

“You know, we today, we got on the film,” Tippman stated. “And we’re confident about our plan to attack that and we just got to clean it up. We got to be better. We can’t beat ourselves before the play even starts, but we’ve been working on it since all the way back in OTAs. We had some mess-ups and mishaps, and we’re confident that we’re just going to keep moving forward. And we got to eliminate those mistakes.”
Tippmann was one of many players on the team’s offensive line who struggled on Sunday. The Wisconsin product earned an overall grade of 43.0 at Pro Football Focus and allowed two pressures. He also struggled with his snap accuracy on a rainy day at MetLife Stadium.
The Jets fell to 2-2 on the season and now have no room for error as they face a challenging stretch of games ahead. This Sunday, they will take on former Jets first-round draft choice Sam Darnold and the undefeated Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Following that matchup, the Jets host the 3-1 division rival Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football before heading to Pittsburgh to face the 3-1 Steelers on Sunday Night Football.
