While he did not specify who his comments were intended for, one of the New York Jets’ biggest stars had strong words for certain members of the team after its 23-17 loss in London.
In a post-game presser, Quincy Williams had a stern statement regarding the recent overall play of the team.
“I’m going to be honest, people get tired of hearing the same s–t. People gotta start taking accountability. People get tired of hearing the same thing every week. That’s all I got to say.”

It is pretty surprising to see that, of all players, Williams is the one delivering that message publicly. The reigning All-Pro linebacker is usually not the one to make waves in the media and is relatively soft-spoken, choosing to let his play speak for itself on the field.
However, Williams is correct in his assessment of the Jets.
The team has repeated the same statements week after week for multiple seasons. Robert Saleh has consistently said that things will be “worked on” and that the team will “figure it out.” Coaches and players have repeatedly said that things will get on track and usually shrug off the struggles the Jets are facing as “execution” issues.
But things need to change for the Jets to get back on track.
Saleh and his coaching staff must be accountable and look in the mirror. They must make adjustments for the better of the team, not the better of their philosophy and scheme. Players must be accountable for their play and work to fix the various issues that have popped up.
If the Jets can take a step back and heed the call of Williams’s words, they have a chance to rebound this season. If they do not, though, the Jets’ season could go up in smoke.
