One of the best linebackers in NFL history has some thoughts on the New York Jets’ sputtering offense.
Appearing on “Up and Adams,” Luke Kuechly gave his thoughts on the Jets’ offense and why it is currently struggling.

“I think he still can play. The arm strength is still there, and his ability to process is still there. They have had multiple games where he has had to throw the ball 50 times. It gets very hard to win games and sustain drives when everything relies on one person to throw the ball.
“Aaron Rodgers’s offense is to sit back and let him figure out the defense. Where is the rotation? Are they displaying one or two high? But now, the NFL is filled with shifts and motions from under center. They cause confusion and get defenses moving pre-snap. The offense that they run in New York is a little bit more stagnant, and defensive coordinators have a better chance to gameplan against it.”
The linebacker also added that he would much rather face a stagnant offense like the Jets than an offense like the 49ers, which is run in San Francisco.
What does Luke Kuechly think is going on with Aaron Rodgers and the #Jets offense? 💭

It is interesting to hear one of the most cerebral linebackers in league history discuss the issues with New York’s offense.
Rodgers is relied upon to ensure that the team’s offense is as successful as possible. He is tasked with making most, if not all, of the adjustments at the line of scrimmage and executing them at a high level.
However, Rodgers is not at an age where he can carry the whole offense by himself. He cannot mask the deficiencies shown by offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett or the offensive line coached by Keith Carter. He cannot overcome a lack of motion or shifting before the play in his current state or with this current roster.
Things could change with more time and the possible addition of Davante Adams. But until then, Kuechly is spot-on with his assessment.
