On Wednesday, ESPN analysts Domonique Foxworth and Jeff Saturday criticized New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers for sending messages through “The Pat McAfee Show” despite claiming that Jets players should “stop listening to the media.”
While appearing on “Get Up,” Foxworth and Saturday bashed Rodgers for trying to send messages through McAfee’s show.
“Man, throw some touchdowns,” Foxworth said. “I get it. It’s a leadership thing, and maybe it works for them in the locker room. But my guess is they’re in the locker room like, ‘Man, don’t throw it to the guys in the other colored jerseys and throw some touchdowns.’ I don’t want to hear this.”
“What you’re saying, do your actions meet your words?”, asked Saturday. “‘Let’s not listen to the media. Let’s not pay attention to them.’ But I’m going to go on for an hour a clip, making extra cash to go do what? You’re talking to your team through – they don’t watch McAfee, bro,” Saturday stated. “No shot on McAfee, obviously. I’m just saying, in general.”
Rodgers contends the Jets’ struggles stem from “playing with too much anger and not enough enjoyment,” urging his teammates to shift their mindset ahead of this weekend’s critical matchup against the New England Patriots.
The Jets’ 2-5 start to the season is largely due to Rodgers’ fair share of turnover struggles this season. The 40-year-old quarterback has thrown seven interceptions, six of which have occurred in the last three weeks.
Rodgers aims to return to his turnover-free ways this Sunday when the Jets travel to Foxborough for a divisional battle against the New England Patriots.
