New York Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich provided some promising injury updates ahead of the team’s Week 10 game against the Arizona Cardinals, including huge news regarding a key offensive starter.
Right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker is set to return for New York after missing the team’s last two games with a high-ankle sprain. At his Friday media avilability, Ulbrich said that Vera-Tucker, right tackle Morgan Moses (knee), and left guard John Simpson (groin) were full participants in practice and will play in the team’s Week 10 game.

The news about Vera-Tucker comes as a pleasant surprise, considering he did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday. Simpson and Moses were limited on Thursday.
Vera-Tucker exited the Jets’ Week 7 loss to Pittsburgh with his injury and missed the next two games. Simpson exited in the Jets’ Thursday loss to Houston after playing only 12 snaps, and his status for Week 10 was up in the air until today.
Ulbrich also said he is hopeful that cornerback Michael Carter II (back) will be able to play on Sunday.
On the flip side of things, Ulbrich said that linebacker C.J. Mosley (neck) and offensive lineman Jake Hanson (hamstring) would not play with their respective injuries.
Getting the offensive line back to full strength is a fantastic development for New York, specifically at the guard positions. The Jets were approaching the danger zone at the position, being forced to play Olu Fashanu there in a pinch last week. With their starters back in the fold, New York should be in a good position to find offensive sucess.
