The New York Jets kicked off their 2024 season with sky-high expectations, only to descend into familiar dysfunction, stumbling to a dismal 3-8 record through 11 games. The collapse led to the firings of general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh.
One of the Jets’ many bold attempts to spark their season was a splash following their heartbreaking 23-20 Week 6 loss to the Buffalo Bills. They traded a conditional third-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for three-time All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, reuniting him with former Green Bay teammate Aaron Rodgers.

However, the trade has not delivered the desired turnaround. The Jets have gone 1-4 with Adams, who has managed just 26 catches on 46 targets for 278 yards and one touchdown.
Appearing on FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams”, the 31-year-old wide receiver was asked if he regrets being dealt to the Jets
“No regrets,” Adams said. “I don’t live my life like that. You’ll drive yourself crazy; hindsight is always 20/20, so you can sit here and look at it now and say, ‘Oh, I could have maybe stayed there, been more comfortable, wouldn’t have had to move and all that stuff,’ but for me, it’s about going with my gut in my life, and that’s how I make my decisions. I live with them, and we’ll roll the dice and see what happens.
“It’s not really a gamble in this situation; it’s almost like an inference; it’s calculated based on what we’re talking about playing with Aaron Rodgers here too. This isn’t some crazy gamble going somewhere with some unproven rookie. Neither of us have played as well as we can, but when you’re rolling the dice, you hope it favors you more.”
Despite the Jets’ dysfunction, Adams’ mindset showcases a commitment to resilience.
