For this weekend’s game, players on the New York Jets will participate in “My Cause My Cleats.”
Multiple players will be wearing special cleats dedicated to causes they care about. Allen Lazard‘s cleats represent the Puppy Jake Foundation, which helps pair veterans with service dogs.

“I had the privilege to host the @puppyjakefdn at our Salute to Service game… and name a dog that will be able to help a Veteran transition back into civilian life.”
Linebacker Quincy Williams partnered with the American Cancer Society and the Quinnen Williams Foundation, which is the foundation led by his brother.
“My mom passed away from breast cancer, so I wanted to use my platform to bring awareness to breast cancer. The way I play, I get to express it through my cleats.”
The man behind the cleats is Mike Jordan, who has become “the go-to guy for New York Jets players who want a pair of customized cleats, particularly for the NFL’s annual My Cause My Cleats campaign.”
Jordan, in an article on the Jets’ official site, spoke about what the role means to him.
“I become emotionally invested in it too, so it gives me even more of incentive. This is special. I have to knock this out of the park. It’s for this special cause or a friend that passed away. It goes beyond just football. There are so many people involved and I’ve made so many contacts that I have ended up doing pairs for way more people than I could have ever imagined.”
It is very cool to see all of the players representing causes that mean so much to them. The players will have a chance to wear them during game action this weekend against the Seahawks.
