“There’s a lot of drunken activity out here.”
That sounds more like the description of a holiday weekend party than a football game. But with those words, Mark Sanchez (on the call for FOX) painted a perfect picture of New York’s matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

The Jets ultimately came up short yet again in a one-score game, falling to the Seahawks 26-21 at MetLife Stadium. They are now 3-9 on the season.
The Jets were called for 12 penalties, fumbled three times (one lost), and threw a pick-six. Seattle fumbled twice on kickoffs, losing both, and added a third fumble that they recovered. Both teams missed an extra point. Neither offense cleared 260 total yards or 5.1 yards per pass attempt.
It was the sort of bumbling, fumbling game that the Jets have been wont to play this season. Sanchez was right: there was plenty of drunken activity from both sides.
The former Jets quarterback called a game in which former Jets were heavily involved. Geno Smith didn’t have a particularly great day, throwing for 206 yards and one score, but staying turnover-free and completing some key passes helped him lead the Seahawks to victory.
Meanwhile, Leonard Williams came up with a 92-yard pick-six of Aaron Rodgers, the longest touchdown by a defensive lineman in NFL history. Williams added two sacks and another tackle for loss. His second sack was on 3rd-and-10 on the Jets’ final drive, forcing the offense into a hole on 4th-and-15.
This is the second time in two Jets games he called that Sanchez has come up with an excellent line to describe the game. Unfortunately for New York, this one ended in defeat.
