The New York Jets could be without multiple key contributors against the Miami Dolphins this weekend.
At his Wednesday press conference, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said that OT Morgan Moses, OG Alijah Vera-Tucker, RB Breece Hall, and CB Sauce Gardner would not practice today. He said the team will be “working with them all week” and that “we will see” if they will play against the Dolphins.

Ulbrich also said that the practice windows for WR Allen Lazard and OL Wes Schweitzer will open this week.
Ulbrich expanded on Gardner’s status during the presser, saying that they are still assessing the degree of the hamstring strain.
“He plays a position, and we are playing an opponent where you cannot play with a poor hamstring. If he is feeling good and is ready to rock and roll, then we will let him play. If not, then this is not a game where we want him half-speed.”
Additionally, Ulbrich said that he is “hopeful” that Hall and Vera-Tucker will play, while he said that Moses is a “throwback NFL player” who is willing to play through any injury.
Asked about the team’s situation impacting injuries, Ulbrich said that the situation and record “will not have a whole lot” of impact on their decisions in that regard.
Speaking about Aaron Rodgers, Ulbrich said the quarterback’s struggles have been a combination of different things.
“We have tremendous faith in Aaron. His struggles have partly been from him not being fully healthy. But beyond that, I know he hasn’t played to the standard he would like to play to. We know what he is capable of; we all believe in him, and I think we will see the best version of him Sunday.”
Regarding Tyrod Taylor, Ulbrich called him “a great resource” for Rodgers and praised his view of the game as “amazing” and “as good as I’ve ever seen.”
Ulbrich addressed the issues of penalties and discipline during his presser as well. The interim head coach said a disciplined player is one “that executes his job to the best of his ability every single play.” He added that part of that process “is the penalty or the lack thereof.”
Ulbrich added that penalties such as illegal shifts and false starts are “unacceptable” and that the team must “hold people accountable” daily to help fix them.
As always, it comes down to the Jets’ on-field production. Can they live up to what they say in the pressers, or will the results stay the same as in previous weeks?
How that pans out will likely determine how the Jets play this weekend against the Miami Dolphins and the game’s result.
