Has Aaron Rodgers ever met a conspiracy theory he doesn’t like?
The New York Jets quarterback and Montclair, New Jersey resident could hardly miss one of the most conspicuous conspiracy theories in the news right now — the mysterious drones hovering over New Jersey.
Rodgers told The Pat McAfee Show that he plans on having a “5E” experience, which is an attempt to communicate with aliens. He said, “You have a big meditation circle, and then you call in the aliens and you use little green lasers to bring them in.”
Rodgers referred to the documentary “Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind” by Steven Greer describing the protocol.
McAfee asked, “Is it like a midnight yell down at Texas A&M?” while one of the other hosts asked, “Like a rain dance?” Rodgers said, “I think it’s a lot of that.”
Rodgers’ reaction is fully expected given his tendency toward the unusual and downright strange. He once asked teammate DeShone Kizer if he believed 9/11 actually happened and told him to read more about it.
There have been reports of as many as 3,000 sightings of car-sized drones over New Jersey at night. Congressman Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey claimed they are coming from an Iranian mothership off the East Coast, which the Pentagon quickly denied.
The official position of federal officials is that they have been unable to corroborate such sightings and the so-called drones are likely visuals of regular airplanes and helicopters.
However, local lawmakers and senators are concerned, demanding the government uncover the truth. Van Drew’s claim is as plausible as any other given the startling lack of information forthcoming.
Of course, a vacuum of information is fodder for conspiracy theories. Rodgers’ subscription to the alien invasion theory is perfectly in character.
