Do the New York Jets have their guy at the quarterback position? According to seven-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, quarterback Justin Fields is going to “dominate” with the Jets.

Appearing on the “Rich Eisen Show,” the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle (and Fields’ 2024 teammate) had nothing but great things to say about the 26-year-old signal-caller.

“First of all, Justin’s a class act,” said Heyward. “He’s a guy that works his tail off and wants to lead by example. I was kind of bummed it didn’t work out here. I thought we were going to have a chance to get him. But I know that dude is going to dominate in New York. He’s going to give that team a good chance.”

The former first-round pick signed with the Jets on a two-year contract worth up to $40 million with $30 million guaranteed.

Fields started the first six games of the season for Pittsburgh before getting benched for Russell Wilson. Across his six starts, Fields led the Steelers to a 4-2 record while completing 106 of his 161 pass attempts (65.8%) for 1,106 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

Fields also made plays with his legs, ripping off 289 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 62 attempts.

While the former Ohio State Buckeye hasn’t solidified himself as a top quarterback in the league, Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn are betting on the 26-year-old’s upside and athleticism.

New York Jets fans certainly share Cameron Heyward’s enthusiasm, hoping Justin Fields is the quarterback they’ve been waiting for.
