Less than a month before the 2025 NFL draft, the New York Jets completed another pre-draft meeting, this time with a projected late-round offensive lineman at Texas’ pro day.

According to SportsKeeda’s Tony Pauline, the Jets met with offensive lineman Hayden Conner. The team reportedly had a “presence” at Texas’ pro day, with head coach Aaron Glenn and co-director of player personnel Jon Carr in attendance.

Conner, 22, was a four-star recruit coming out of high school, attending James E. Taylor High School in Harris County, Texas.

The lineman committed to Texas and spent all four of his collegiate seasons as a Longhorn. Conner appeared in eight games as a freshman in 2021 before taking over as Texas’ starting left guard in 2022.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and 314 pounds, Conner was very durable throughout his college career, starting every game for Texas at left guard from 2022 through 2024. Throughout his collegiate career, Conner appeared in 51 games for the Longhorns, including 43 starts.

According to Pauline, Conner clocked a 5.18 forty-yard dash at his pro day, nearly two-tenths faster than expected.

Less than a month before the draft, the Jets could certainly use additional depth on the interior offensive line. Their current backups include Josh Myers, Kohl Levao, and Xavier Newman, with Myers being the only one who has truly established himself as an NFL-caliber player.

Ranked No. 352 overall on NFL Mock Draft Database’s consensus big board, Conner could be a late-round draft pick or an undrafted free agent target for general manager Darren Mougey to provide some extra interior offensive line depth.
