The 2025 NFL draft is less than a month away, and speculation over who the New York Jets should select is the hottest topic among fans.

With the Jets’ draft strategy beginning to take shape, it is worthwhile to monitor which college pro days are attended by members of the staff, as it can offer insight into the team’s interest in certain prospects.

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the Jets “had a presence” at Texas’ pro day Tuesday, with head coach Aaron Glenn and co-director of player personnel Jon Carr among those in attendance.

The Longhorns had a program record of 14 players invited to the NFL combine. The Jets could be evaluating any of them, especially with two high-ranking team officials on hand.

Here are a few prospects from Texas the Jets could be interested in.

Offense

Quinn Ewers, QB

Ewers, 22, spent his first college season with Ohio State before transferring to Texas, where he spent his final three collegiate seasons.

Over three seasons as a Longhorn, Ewers played in 36 games, completing 64.9% of his pass attempts for 9,128 yards, 68 touchdowns, and 24 interceptions.

The Jets formally met with Ewers at the combine and reportedly met with him again before his pro day. The interest suggests the organization views the 22-year-old as a potential late-round flier at quarterback.

Ewers currently ranks 79th overall on NFL Mock Draft Database’s consensus big board.

Matthew Golden, WR

Golden, 21, spent his first two collegiate seasons with Houston before transferring to Texas, spending his final college season as a Longhorn.

Golden, a former four-star recruit, appeared in 20 games for Houston, compiling 988 yards and 13 touchdowns on 76 receptions.

The 21-yard easily had his most productive season in 2024, hauling in 58 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns in 16 games.

The speedster clocked a highly impressive 4.29 forty-yard dash at the combine, ranking the highest among wide receivers and the second-highest overall, slightly trailing only Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston (4.28).

Golden currently ranks 19th overall on the consensus big board. It’s unlikely the Jets will select him at pick No. 7, but never say never. If they trade back, the Texas native could certainly be in play.

Isaiah Bond, WR

Bond, 21, spent his first two college seasons with Alabama, playing under head coach Nick Saban.

Throughout 27 games for Alabama, Bond reeled in 65 catches for 888 yards and five touchdowns.

The former Georgia State track star then transferred to Texas ahead of the 2024 season. In 2024, Bond caught 34 passes for 588 yards and five touchdowns.

Like Golden, the 21-year-old clocked a stellar forty-yard dash time at the combine (4.39).

Bond ranks No. 70 overall on the consensus big board. The Jets need significant help at wide receiver, and Bond could be a potential target in the third round. New York holds the No. 73 overall pick.

Gunnar Helm, TE

Helm, 22, spent all four of his collegiate seasons as a Longhorn.

Across his entire college career, Helm logged 79 receptions for 1,022 yards and nine touchdowns.

In 2024, Helm had his breakout season, catching 60 balls for 786 yards and seven touchdowns while earning second-team All-SEC honors.

Ranked No. 105 overall on the consensus big board, the 22-year-old is a player the Jets should consider. They have a glaring need at tight end, where only Stone Smartt, Jeremy Ruckert, and Zack Kuntz are under contract. Darren Mougey could target Helm as a reliable pass-catcher on day two or three of the draft.

Defense

Andrew Mukuba, S

Mukuba, 22, initially committed to Clemson, where he spent his first three college seasons and earned ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021. He appeared in 35 total games for the Tigers, compiling 143 tackles and one interception.

Mukuba transferred to Texas, where he spent his final collegiate season (2024) and made his presence known. The former four-star recruit had 69 tackles along with an impressive five interceptions.

Despite tendering Tony Adams and signing Andre Cisco in free agency, the Jets still need depth at safety, and Mukuba could help fill that void. Ranked No. 85 overall on the consensus big board, the former Tiger and Longhorn could be a third-round target for Glenn and Mougey.

Alfred Collins, DT

Standing at 6-foot-6 and 332 pounds, Alfred Collins spent all five of his college seasons with Texas.

In 2024, Collins made his name known around college football, posting 55 tackles, including six tackles for loss in 16 games.

Despite signing three free-agent defensive tackles, the Jets still need help clogging the middle against the run, an area where Collins could contribute significantly. While he offers limited pass rush production, with seven sacks over five seasons, he is a strong run defender.

Ranked No. 60 overall on the consensus Big Board, Collins could be a potential third-round target for the Jets.
