With the 2025 NFL draft fast approaching, the New York Jets continue to complete visits and meetings with prospects.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets have completed a top-30 visit with Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough.

Jets offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand also attended Shough’s pro day.

Shough, a former four-star recruit, began his collegiate career at Oregon, where he played from 2018-20. Over his three seasons with the Ducks, Shough played in 15 games, completing 64.8% of his passes for 1,703 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also contributed on the ground, rushing for 282 yards and two touchdowns on 68 carries.

After leaving Oregon, Shough transferred to Texas Tech, where he spent another three years from 2021-23. In 15 games with the Red Raiders, he posted a 62.4% completion rate, throwing for 2,922 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also added 432 yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 136 attempts.

In 2024, Shough transferred again, this time to Louisville, where he played his seventh season of college football. The Arizona native enjoyed a breakout year, setting career highs with 3,195 passing yards and 23 touchdowns while maintaining a 62.7% completion rate and limiting himself to just six interceptions. He also led the Cardinals to a top-10 national ranking in scoring, averaging 36.5 points per game.

Shough’s college career has been marred by injuries. He broke his collarbone in 2021, injured his shoulder in 2022, and suffered a broken fibula in 2023.

At 6-foot-5 and 219 pounds, Shough is considered a mid-round draft prospect. He is currently ranked 85th overall on Mock Draft Database’s consensus big board, but his stock has been on the rise. As recently as February 1, he was ranked 288th.

Perhaps the Jets could take a flier on the 25-year-old prospect in one of the mid-rounds of the draft.
