With the 2025 NFL draft approaching, the New York Jets continue to pile up pre-draft visits. The organization has met with a wide range of prospects from all rounds, while most recently hosting a projected first-round defensive tackle prospect.

According to his official Instagram account, the Jets hosted Oregon Ducks 313-pound defensive tackle Derrick Harmon for an official top-30 visit.

In addition to the Jets, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Harmon also met with the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Initially committing to Michigan State as a three-star recruit hailing from Loyola High School in Detroit, MI, Harmon spent his first three college seasons as a Spartan before transferring to Oregon ahead of the 2024 season.

Appearing in 28 total games for Michigan State throughout his three collegiate seasons (2021-23), the Detroit native logged 71 total tackles (seven for loss) with 3.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

In 2024, his first season as a Duck, the former three-star recruit really put his name on the map as a top defensive tackle in this year’s draft class. Playing in 14 games, Harmon posted 45 total tackles (11 for loss) with 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 313 pounds, Harmon excelled as a pass-rusher, earning an 86.3 pass-rush grade from Pro Football Focus. He also proved effective against the run, recording an 80.5 run-defense grade. Harmon plays with a high motor, a quick first step, and fast hands.

While the Jets added three defensive tackles in free agency, they still lack a reliable option to line up alongside Quinnen Williams. The Oregon product could potentially fill that role for Gang Green.

Ranked 31st overall on Mock Draft Database’s consensus big board, Harmon would most likely be an option for the Jets in a trade-down scenario rather than being selected with the No. 7 overall pick.

However, as we all know, anything can go down on draft night.
