With the 2025 NFL draft less than a week away, the New York Jets remain focused on stacking up pre-draft visits. Recently, Gang Green hosted yet another prospect whose profile aligns with a noticeable trend in their official top-30 visits.
According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, the Jets hosted Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander for a top-30 visit.
Alexander fits the profile of a projected late first-round/early second-round defensive lineman the Jets could target in a trade down from the No. 7 overall pick or a trade up from No. 42. The trend became clear after the team hosted Oregon’s Derrick Harmon and Georgia’s Mykel Williams on top-30 visits; now, add Alexander to that list.
A two-star recruit hailing from Wayne High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Alexander committed to Toledo, where he spent all five of his college seasons.
Redshirting as a freshman in 2019, Alexander appeared in 58 games for the Rockets, posting 127 total tackles (23 for loss) and nine sacks.
The Indiana native compiled his most productive collegiate season in 2024, playing in 12 games while logging 40 tackles (8 for loss), 3.5 sacks, and a pick-six. Alexander excelled as both a pass-rusher and run-stuffer, posting a strong 78.0 pass-rushing grade from Pro Football Focus and an even more impressive 90.3 mark as a run defender.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds, Alexander plays with a highly explosive first step.
The Jets’ pre-draft trend with top-30 visits is undeniable. From Williams to Harmon to Alexander, the team appears to be interested in projected late-first-round or early-second-round defensive linemen.
