With the preseason opener less than a week away, New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn is focused on progress beyond the scoreboard.
“I want to see exactly what we talked about when it comes to the things we are trying to create in training camp, and that is creating an identity and what type of advantage we are going to create,” Glenn told reporters on Monday. “For the most part, that is what I am going to be looking at. I am not really looking at what the score is going to be; it is more so, are we going to hit those points that I want to hit when it comes to the things we have talked about.”
Glenn did not provide an answer whether Gang Green’s starters will suit up, telling reporters he will have an answer at the end of the week.
Saturday marks the first of three preseason games for the Jets, who will also face the crosstown-rival Giants in their annual matchup and travel to Philadelphia to play the defending champion Eagles.
As the Jets prepare for Saturdayโs preseason opener against the Packers, Glennโs message is clear: itโs not about the final score, itโs about laying the foundation for sustained success.
With battles ranging across the depth chart and several key contributors nursing injuries, these next few weeks will be pivotal in shaping the teamโs identity. Whether or not the starters take the field, Glenn expects to see a physical and disciplined team in Green Bay.
