The New York Jets have unveiled their initial 53-man roster entering the 2025 NFL season. All 32 teams were required to cut their rosters down ahead of 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday afternoon.

Here is the Jets’ roster as of the cutdown deadline.

Defensive tackle Byron Cowart and linebacker Ja’Markis Weston were placed on injured reserve. Weston is designated to return after missing a minimum of four games. Cowart was not designated to return, which means his season with the Jets is over. He could join another team if released with an injury settlement.

Surprising cuts include undrafted wide receiver Jamaal Pritchett and undrafted quarterback Brady Cook.

Pritchett had gained steam to push for Xavier Gipson’s roster spot as the punt returner and backup slot receiver, but Gipson won the initial job despite missing recent time with an injury.

Cook, who was pursuing the Jets’ QB3 role, stuck on the roster for a tad longer than Adrian Martinez, who was released a few days ago, but both players will now be subject to waivers.

Meanwhile, promising second-year defensive tackle Leonard Taylor was able to sneak onto the roster, likely thanks to Cowart being placed on IR.
