Aaron Glenn isn’t only catching heat from the New York media anymore.

Criticism of the Jets’ struggling first-year head coach has extended well beyond the fans and reporters who are burdened with watching the struggling team all year long. The national media is beginning to take notice of how far south things have gone for the Jets under Glenn’s watch.

Speaking on ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” hours ahead of the Jets’ 2025 season finale against the Buffalo Bills, three-time Super Bowl champion Teddy Bruschi roasted Glenn’s performance in his debut season as a head coach.

“The fact that we’re even talking about Aaron Glenn[‘s job security] after signing a five-year contract just shows how badly they’ve looked,” Bruschi said. “From the eye test, from a former player; players not wanting to play, no effort, these games weren’t contested at all. The fact that they haven’t had an interception the entire season.

“Usually, coaches, what do we look for? The bad teams; are they going to surge just a touch? I’m not talking go undefeated the last four games, but has the coach made a difference on the team late in the season? Do you see improvement? Raheem [Morris], they’re surging in Atlanta. Mike McDaniel, what he’s done. … But the Jets, his first year, Aaron, I don’t know what’s going on in that building, but that’s some of the worst that I’ve seen to finish a year by a first-year head coach.”

The Jets were outscored by 107 points in December, the worst point differential for the month of December in NFL history.

All reports indicate that Glenn’s job is safe as Black Monday looms, but the pressure will be on Glenn to facilitate meaningful progress as soon as the ball kicks off in 2026.
