Could the New York Jets ship off another superstar from the previous regime?

Doubtful as it may seem, it appears that other NFL teams are willing to pick up the phone and find out.

According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, teams are expected to “check in” on 25-year-old Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson on draft night.

For numerous reasons, New York trading Wilson seems incredibly unlikely.

The Jets are widely expected to select a wide receiver in the first round of the draft due to their gaping hole at the position. Wilson is not only the unit’s lone star, but he is its only player who can be considered anywhere close to league-average. He finished as the Jets’ leading receiver in 2025 with just 395 yards, despite playing in only seven games.

If the Jets were to trade Wilson, their wide receiver unit would not only be the weakest in the NFL, but it would have an argument to be the weakest unit at any position on any NFL roster.

Outside of Wilson, the remaining receivers on the Jets’ roster have combined for 1,016 receiving yards and two touchdowns in their entire NFL careers, with Adonai Mitchell responsible for most of that production.

Of course, every NFL player has a price. If a team came to the Jets offering three first-round picks and three second-round picks for Wilson, New York would be silly not to accept the offer.

It is equally silly to pretend that any NFL team would offer a package ludicrous enough to get the Jets to part with their only competent player at a premium position that directly influences the success of the quarterback.

There is a 99.99% chance that Wilson remains a Jet once the 2026 NFL draft concludes, but don’t be surprised if we hear reports about New York receiving some offers for the star wideout.
