Very little went right for the New York Jets offense in 2025. They scored just 26 touchdowns, the second-fewest in the NFL. Five different offenses around the NFL had at least twice as many touchdowns.
Hidden within the Jets’ punt-machine of an offense was a diamond in the rough: right tackle Armand Membou.
As a 21-year-old rookie starter, expectations were held in check for Membou in his debut season. The hope was that, in due time, the Jets could develop him into an elite starter. Once given a few years to learn how to maximize his superb physical traits, Membou projected as a potential star on the offensive line.
Instead, the seventh-overall pick decided to skip a few steps in his development curve.
Membou stormed out of the gates with a standout debut against T.J. Watt and the Pittsburgh Steelers. From there, he continued to shine as a rare bright spot on New York’s inept offense. Membou established himself as a quality building block for the offense moving forward.
Still, Membou endured his rookie bumps. There were rough patches throughout the season, and he will have to clean some things up before he becomes the best version of himself.
That was to be expected, though. The exciting part is that Membou is much closer to stardom after his rookie year than anybody could have anticipated.
So, exactly how good was Membou in his rookie season? What are the primary areas of his game where he still needs to improve? And what is his ceiling once he develops in those areas?
In the latest edition of Blewett’s Blitz, we answer all of those questions and more in a full-fledged breakdown of Membou’s All-22 film.
