New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith is one of the toughest NFL signal-callers to evaluate going into 2026.

In three of the past four seasons, Smith was a quality starter for the Seattle Seahawks. From 2022 to 2024, he had three straight years with a winning record, over 3,600 passing yards, and a passer rating above 92.

But in 2025, everything fell apart, as Smith led the NFL with 17 interceptions and posted a 2-13 record as the Las Vegas Raiders’ starters.

Jets fans are hoping that Smith delivers the version of himself that we saw in Seattle. But experience tells them to believe that he will probably be the version we saw in Las Vegas last year.

There are signs pointing in all different directions as to which version of Smith we will get. Some metrics say that Smith was unlucky in 2025, and is due to throw far fewer interceptions. He also appears to be a great fit with Jets OC Frank Reich.

But as we broke down in Part 1 of our Geno Smith film review, there were real issues on his film in 2025. Not all of his struggles could be chalked up to the supporting cast.

So, as Smith enters a season during which he will turn 36 years old, every Jets fan wants to know: What should he really be expected to do in 2026?

In the latest edition of Blewett’s Blitz, we dive into the second half of Smith’s 2025 season while breaking down a scouting report of Smith’s strengths and weaknesses.

Below is the full Geno Smith film review and scouting report (strengths and weaknesses).
