The off-field issues surrounding now-former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold have made significant headlines amid the NFL’s offseason lull.
At his court hearing on Friday morning, his agent, Nicole Lynn, shared that four teams have “reached out” about signing Arnold while he works out for the Houston Texans: the Indianapolis Colts, the Seattle Seahawks, the Texans, and the New York Jets.
Lynn added that there is a “very good likelihood” he’ll sign in the next 45 days.
In June, Arnold was arrested and charged with eight felonies, including four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery, while facing a potential life sentence in prison.
According to prosecutors, over $250,000 of his personal belongings were stolen from an Airbnb in February. Following that, it’s alleged that he orchestrated a plot to retaliate, luring three men to an apartment. The three men were held at gunpoint, pistol-whipped, and robbed.
Allegedly, though, the victims had no relation to the missing items.
He later turned himself in to Tampa authorities while posting a $1 million bond. However, he was released by the Lions just days later.
During his rookie season in 2024, he played under now-Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, who served as the Lions’ DC from 2021-24.
Arnold’s availability for the 2026 NFL season is completely unknown, as it hinges on how the ongoing legal saga proceeds.
Here is a look at the Jets’ current CB depth chart.
- Brandon Stephens
- Azareye’h Thomas
- Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
- DโAngelo Ponds
- Nahshon Wright
- Qwanโtez Stiggers
- Jordan Clark
- Tre Brown
- Samuel Womack III
- Mory Bamba (UDFA)
If signed, Arnold, a former first-round pick, would join a very competitive top half of the depth chart.
For now, Arnold’s future remains tied to the outcome of his active case, leaving his potential fit with the Jets or any other team on the back burner until the legal situation plays out.
