Well, say goodbye to a potential New York Jets-Jamal Adams reunion.
According to FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz, former New York Jets safety Jamal Adams has signed with the Minnesota Vikings.
This offseason, Adams continued to self-campaign for a second chance in New York with the Jets, the team that drafted him with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2017 draft.
As we recently broke down, a reunion would have made a lot of sense for both sides, but that option is off the table now that he has signed with Minnesota.
In 2025, with the Las Vegas Raiders, Adams officially transitioned to a full-time linebacker role after spending most of his career as a strong safety.
Adams finished the year with a 67.3 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, slotting 33rd among 88 qualified LBs, while his 69.2 grade in coverage was even better (15th).
While staying healthy for all 17 games (4 starts), Adams tallied 448 defensive snaps, recording 45 total tackles (5 for loss) and one forced fumble.
Furthermore, he remained dominant as a blitzer, which has always been his calling card in the NFL. Throughout 35 pass-rush snaps, he collected seven total pressures (20% pressure rate), including a sack and a hit.
“Jamal Adams liked the opportunity to have a chance to earn a role with a Brian Flores defense, which has a history of utilizing players like him,” Schultz added.
Minnesota is Adams’ fifth team since being traded by the Jets to the Seattle Seahawks in 2020.
