After New York Jets cornerback Mory Bamba sustained a knee injury that will leave him sidelined for a few weeks, New York, all of a sudden, is in need of end-of-the-roster CBs.

The room is currently thin as second-round rookie D’Angelo Ponds continues to work his way back from a calf strain while Qwan’tez Stiggers hasn’t participated in practice after passing out during a joint practice last week.

According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, New York is signing cornerback Keenan Garber along with outside linebacker Nate Lynn.

To correspond with the additions, defensive end Kingsley Jonathan is being waived/injured, and defensive lineman Ben Barten has been waived.

Garber, 26, signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL draft. He spent time on the practice squads of Minnesota, the Detroit Lions, and the Indianapolis Colts, all without taking a single regular-season snap.

Garber is a little older for someone entering his second NFL season, having spent six years in the NCAA with the Kansas State Wildcats, redshirting a year and being granted an extra season of collegiate eligibility due to COVID.

In 2024, Garber played in all 13 games (12 starts) for Kansas State, posting 29 tackles, six pass breakups, and one interception.

On the other hand, Lynn, 24, overlapped with Aaron Glenn in Detroit, signing with the team as an undrafted free agent that year while Glenn was the squad’s defensive coordinator.

By all accounts, he played well throughout training camp and looked great in his first preseason game, tallying a sack, two quarterback hits, and two hurries on just 13 pass-rush snaps while earning a strong 84.9 pass-rushing grade at Pro Football Focus.

However, he suffered a torn ligament in his shoulder, placing him on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.

Once again in 2025, Lynn delivered a strong showing over the summer, finishing the preseason with 10 pressures, eight hurries and a sack throughout 108 snaps, contributing to an even better 90.6 pass-rushing grade from PFF. He did not make the roster, though, and eventually caught on to the Tennessee Titans’ practice squad.

Lynn still has yet to appear in a regular-season game, but his preseason performances thus far have been spectacular. Perhaps he can do the same throughout the Jets’ final two preseason games and push for a spot on the organization’s practice squad.
