Robert Saleh provided updates on the health of a couple of banged-up leaders on the New York Jets offense, Mekhi Becton and Corey Davis.

The New York Jets have stayed fairly healthy throughout the early portion of the offseason thus far, but they have faced some minor question marks regarding offensive tackle Mekhi Becton and Corey Davis. However, neither players’ ailments seem to be serious, according to head coach Robert Saleh.

Speaking to the media on Friday morning, Saleh stated that Davis’ injuries are “nagging” and that he would likely be taking the field if the Jets were preparing for a real game. Davis has showcased solid durability over the past three years, missing only one game due to a non-COVID issue since 2018.

Denzel Mims, who missed a recent practice, was merely dealing with a non-COVID illness and should be back at practice today. Mims will be looking to enjoy a cleaner 2021 season as his rookie year was hampered by a hamstring issue that kept him off the field for much of the offseason and the first seven games of the regular season.

As for Becton, the young star lineman could be off the practice field for “a few weeks” with plantar fasciitis according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, but he will not need surgery and should be good to go for training camp.

Becton had a rough rookie season in regards to durability. He missed two games with a shoulder issue, and in six of his 14 appearances, he played less than 100% of the offensive snaps. The Louisville product logged only eight games in which he played every snap and only 10 in which he played at least 90% of the snaps.
