The New York Jets have made wholesale changes to their offensive staff after an abysmal 2025 season.
Those changes were officially announced by the team on Tuesday.
Jets 2026 offensive staff
These are the confirmed hires announced by the team:
- Offensive coordinator: Frank Reich
- Passing game coordinator: Seth Ryan
- QB coach: Bill Musgrave
- Offensive assistant/assistant QBs: Thomas Merkle
- Tight end coach: Alfredo Roberts
- Assistant Offensive Line: Al Netter
- Offensive assistant: Matthew Sargent
Some of these hires, including Reich and Ryan, were reported recently. The most notable hire announced on Wednesday is quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave.
The 58-year-old previously worked as the Cleveland Browns’ quarterbacks coach in 2025. In the past, Musgrave has served as an offensive coordinator for the Broncos (2017-18), Raiders (2015-16), Vikings (2011-13), and Jaguars (2003-04).
Whoever the next starting quarterback is for the Jets, they will have the benefit of decades of experience from their offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.
Netter, Merkle, and Sargent followed Reich from Stanford University.
The Jets have completely revamped their offensive staff. Now, the focus must shift to finding players that fit the new scheme going forward.
