The Atlanta Falcons may be looking to move up to 10 or 11 in the 2020 NFL Draft, which means calling Joe Douglas and the New York Jets.
To trade down or not to trade down? This is one of many questions.
Equipped with the 11th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas feels quite comfortable, especially considering there are four premium offensive tackle talents and two (or three) wide receivers that can all be considered solid options in that spot.
Despite that level of comfort, a move down the first round cannot be ruled out entirely. In fact, if there’s one thing the Jets need most, it’s assets. Interestingly, there’s an NFC team possibly looking to get into the 10 or 11-hole.
According to longtime NFL veteran media member Benjamin Albright, the Falcons are looking to move into the 10 or 11-hole for defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw.

The Falcons currently hold the No. 16 pick and if Kinlaw is their desired choice, it would probably be tough to snag the South Carolina product. Some have the Jacksonville Jaguars snagging Kinlaw in the nine-spot.
Although nothing is for certain, the one thing Douglas probably will not do is trade up. There is just no reason to do so at this stage of the team-building game. But a trade down—possibly with a willing participant like the Atlanta Falcons—could be exactly what the rebuilding doctor orders.
