Sabo Radio 57 breaks down the Yannick Ngakoue rumors and dives into New York Jets training camp where the physicality increased.
Is Yannick Ngakoue heading to the New York Jets? Ladies and gents, that’s a tough sell. Of course, never put anything past general manager Joe Douglas.
The man traded away the team’s best player, Jamal Adams, with two years of control at play. And he did so without tipping his hand in the least.
Nobody had that Adams-to-Seattle report prior to it happening, which, in its own right, is tremendous news for the Jets fan. Douglas runs a tight ship and has secured massive leaks that plagued the Mike Maccagnan era and regimes prior.
On Wednesday, The Athletic’s Michael Lombardi reported that the Jets were looking into the possibility of trading for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ disgruntled edge rusher. Remember, he’s the very same man who called out Jags owner Tony Kahn via Twitter.
He, like Adams, demonstrated the willingness to do whatever it takes to get his way. There are differences, of course, but knowing that, it’s tough to believe Douglas would trade for that type of guy (save for a crazy bargain that fills a much-needed edge spot).
We also dig into Jets camp and what we’ve seen through five practices.
Sam Darnold looks quicker, Quinnen Williams looks beastlier, Breshad Perriman looks more talented than Robby Anderson and Mekhi Becton is mowing folks down.
It’s still extremely early, and the injuries have taken a toll, but the critical spots remain healthy and intact (quarterback, offensive line, defensive line).
