EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—Bad blood in the NFL makes for some tremendous storylines.

After the Denver Broncos’ 37-28 victory over the New York Jets Thursday night in the swamps of Northern New Jersey, head coach Vic Fangio poured gasoline on the already lit fire that’s beneath Adam Gase.

He snubbed the Jets head coach and directed his team to leave the MetLife Stadium field.

Nobody knows for sure whether or not Fangio deliberately did it to snub Gase or whether he simply wanted his team to avoid a COVID-19-type situation.

The Tennesee Titans-Pittsburgh Steelers game this Sunday has been postponed due to positive tests in Tennessee. Perhaps Fangio will clear the air in his postgame presser. Perhaps not.

So far this season, it’s remained customary for coaches and players to continue the longstanding tradition of meeting at midfield. This obviously didn’t happen after the Jets’ fourth loss of the season.

The end of the game was a bit choppy, with the Jets calling timeouts down two possessions in addition to a defensive personal foul. Whether that had anything to do with Fangio’s actions is also a mystery at the moment.

In the end, the Broncos pick up their first victory of the season, while the Jets will have some time off before getting back after it next week. They’ll prepare for the tough Arizona Cardinals who are slated to visit MetLife Stadium for a Week 5 affair.
